Ttnet data usage

I regularly check my data usage , I have watched sport via Kodi for about 2 hours and the rest of my use is browsing and emails - no downloads. Have just checked and am showing 8.3gb download and 2gb upload. That amount of usage is a mystery to me as the first hour on Kodi only took up 1.5gb. It is password protected and nobody has been given the code. I can only think that the useage is due to hacking. Any other bright alternative ideas? Is there any way of identifying when the data has been used ?

Re: Ttnet data usage

Some of Kodi is HD (High Definition) - I notice on films - and that would give you these figures. HD, I have been told is about 4 times that of standard, which for me is around 2 - 3 GB for 3+ hours.

Mine was hacked after moving into our new home.My friend came round and went on the internet and down loaded a program that shows all users on your network.Laptop kindle Ipad and TV plus a phone that we didnt own. This was deleted and my mate periodically checks but since then no hackers.I will find out how he does it and report back Widd.

Ian- thanks for your reply and a real good point you make. However, yesterday, I used up over 1.5 gb without being on Kodi? Just emails and browsing the newspapers. There will be downloads for apps and updates - but nowhere near 1gb? So, jury still out for me.

Trev- thanks for the reply. Much appreciated.

Re: Ttnet data usage

Maybe a stupid suggestion but try changing your password and see if it makes any difference.

Re: Ttnet data usage

Are you using any browser toolbar extensions?
Especially for torrents.

Re: Ttnet data usage

The ttnet vinn desktop app does include a basic usage monitor , you may see an unexpected pattern. Worth a look.

I notice you have an iPad.
Not sure if you have similar apps but I have a Macbook Air and am relatively new to Mac & IOS X etc, but the other day I used up around 2Gb in minutes as my mac auto-downloaded updates for Pages, Numbers, I Movie & something else I can't remember.
I've now found out how to disable that, especially as while I'm in Turkey I'm using a VINN and limited data.
Just a thought.

Re: Ttnet data usage

What I notice most months is if I stop using 1-2 hours before midnight on last day of the month and reset the usage to 0 when I switch on next day the 1st up to 1gb usage appears. Dont know if its slow in coming through, also an ipad chews up data faster than windows laptop.
