Re: Cruise Holidays - Where and When to go

We did a lot of cruises between 1995 to 2002 we always went the Caribbean with princess cruises royal Caribbean and celebrity they were all fantastic but there wasnt 3000 people on them then I personally wouldn't fancy being on a cruise with 3000 people my advice is go for it you either get the cruise bug or hate it 😎

I agree. We prefer smaller ships, we went on a large ship a couple of years ago, and it was so impersonal, and we kept getting lost, and going into a restaurant through the wrong door because we couldn't get our head around how to get to the right one. We are booked onto a Caribbean cruise in January with Marella (ex Thomson) which is a far nicer size. xx

Re: Cruise Holidays - Where and When to go

We went around the Caribbean on Marella Discovery and had a great time, all great ports. This year was out of New York on NCL Escape, not so great, The ship was just ok, the East Coast Americans were fine but so many of those from the mid west etc were quite rude and often racist to the crew, I had to be held back a couple of times the worst occasion being a big guy with a big moustache tried to get served out of turn, he said, hey ****** I'm talking to you.
Cozumel and Costa Maya were dumps, we didn't stop at their Bahamas private island because it was too windy to tender, Roatan was a crappy little island with little or nothing to do there. Back on Marella next year to Celebrate a friends 50th, my upcoming big birthday gets me a trip to Inveraray, can't believe I'm nearly 40 !

Re: Cruise Holidays - Where and When to go

So Linsey booked another cruise around the Caribbean, this time on an MSC ship, left me clueless this one knowing very little about them, any first hand knowledge ? YouTube and the usual sources are vague.

Re: Cruise Holidays - Where and When to go

We too have booked a cruise with MSC. We have done about 10 cruises in the past, but never MSC. We are doing Dubai to Japan departing on 20th March.
Maybe whichever one of us sails first can update the other

I am desperately hoping that our cruise will be cancelled. Really don't want to go, but equally don't want to loose a huge amount of money.

I have just seen that people who boarded a Cunard ship in Dubai are not doing any stops until they get off in Australia

Surely if they are not doing the stops then they should be able to demand a no- penalty cancellation.

The coronavirus cruise ship quarantine is a scary public health experiment
The second-largest outbreak outside China is floating at sea and health experts are increasingly worried.

Thailand becomes latest country to turn away Westerdam cruise ship as it bars passengers from disembarking despite no cases of coronavirus on board

Westerdam has already been turned away by Philippines, Taiwan and Japan
Thailand
will offer fuel and food to the ship although it won't be able to dock
There are no coronavirus cases reported on-board the vessel, says the owner
