LIVE: New Tougher Measures Because of COVID-19 in Bulgaria - Updated as of Monday June 22, 2020.

Indoor masks are becoming mandatory again in Bulgaria..!

Indoor events will be organized at a capacity of up to 50 percent of the capacity of the hall, and masks must be worn. This was stated during a briefing by the Minister of Health Kiril Ananiev.

For indoor trade sites, a distance of 1.5 meters will have to be observed.

"It's important that when we say something, it's based on facts. The situation is complicated. We have a real increase in COVID-19 cases. Fortunately, it is not so much for people in need of intensive care, "said State Chief Inspector Dr. Angel Kunchev.

According to him, this is happening in other countries as well. "It's happening because of our behaviour and the changes in the virus.

In the First Place in terms of morbidity is Northern Macedonia 45.6 per 100 thousand population.

In Second Place on the blanks is Albania - 12.9,

Bosnia - 11.9,

TURKEY - 10.7. Fifth

and Sixth Place BULGARIA - 8.3, and Serbia - 7.09 per 100 thousand population.

This is happening in Europe, "Kunchev added. "Is this a second wave or just an increase in cases?" I am more inclined to believe the latter, based on the people who accepted that it was all over. The measures are not observed and more serious morbidity is observed. My call to the hospitals - not to forget the order of the Minister of Health. So far we have talked about the 3 "D's". Now we add a "C" - control. It turned out that we cannot rely on people's consciences, "he added.

"Obviously, last week's data for the whole country is alarming. This includes Sofia. That is why we are constantly discussing and considering the situation. We have to learn to live with the virus, "said Sofia Mayor Yordanka Fandakova.

"As early as Saturday, we discussed that before Minister Ananiev make the masks obligatory, we should do it," she added. "I beg the people of Sofia to return to the attitude we had during the state of emergency," Fandakova urged.

Re: Bulgaria

I think that as the rules are relaxed people can easily fall back into old habits (not continuously washing hands or using gel) sadly a second wave is inevitable this winter.

Derek i was chatting a friend who is in the real estate biz in Sofia, he was saying the rental prices have collapsed and he expects property prices to drop by 25 % by the year end.
How is the situation in your neck of the woods ?

Re: Bulgaria

Her Majesty’s Consul to Bulgaria Paul Clark gives an important update for UK nationals residing in Bulgaria.

The Bulgarian Parliament has approved the amendment implementing the Withdrawal Agreement into Bulgarian legislation. The new residency scheme for UK nationals launches today - 8 July 2020.

The legislation ensures that your right to live, work, study and access services is protected as long as you remain resident in Bulgaria. This also applies to your family members, even if they are not UK or EU citizens.

You should visit your local migration office in the coming days if you have already applied for your new long-term or permanent residence permit or if your current residence permit expires between 13 March and 31 October 2020.

You should also apply for a new residence permit now, if you arrived in Bulgaria in the last 3 months.

If your residence permit expires before 31 December 2021, you should renew it shortly before its expiry date.

If your residence permit expires after 1 January 2022, you can exchange it at any point between now and 31 December 2021. In this case, your new residence permit will have the same expiry date as your original residence document.

From now on, all UK nationals will receive the same format of residence permit, which will include your picture and your biometric data. The permit will also state that you are protected under art. 18 of the Withdrawal Agreement.

Please visit the Ministry of Interior website for more detailed information about the new scheme.

The Canadian "Velocity Company", will look for Gold on the territory of the municipalities of Bolyarovo and Elhovo.

The Canadian Velocity Minerals will acquire 100% of the Iglika gold mining project, located in the southeastern part of the country, in the municipalities of Bolyarovo and Elhovo. The announcement officially comes from the company, which is a shareholder and develops other deposits in Bulgaria, economic.bg reports .

Velocity adds that this is an understudied property located in a very promising mineral belt of precious and base metals.

The project is located in the westernmost part of the fertile Tetyan belt, which crosses Bulgaria and contains a number of epitermal deposits of gold and porphyry from copper and mining mines.

According to the trade conditions, Velocity will have the right to acquire a 100% stake in Iglika by acquiring the shares of Balkan Minerals Development OOD. The final agreement will be drafted and implemented in a timely manner.

Velocity Minerals is a gold exploration and development company focused on Eastern Europe. It is the majority owner of the company controlling the Rozino gold deposit, and has partnered with Gorubso-Kardzhali to develop several projects in the country.

Iglika is located on the territory of the Municipalities of Bolyarovo and Elhovo and more precisely - in the lands of the villages of Lalkovo, Sitovo, Iglika, Golyamo Sharkovo, Malko Sharkovo and Voden.
