Post Travel Insurance from Turkey

We are trying to find Worldwide Travel Insurance which will allow us to fly from and back to Turkey. We have tried numerous companies in the UK, but they won't cover us as we are flying out of Istanbul. We are both over 65. Has anyone found a good company in Turkey they could recommend. Thanks in advance

Well, we seem no further forward. Angela, we tried moneysupermarket and through them IMG, thought we had cracked it but find out today they don't cover for possible cancellation. We have also called into Allianz and although they have provided us with a policy it only covers us for EUR 1000. We were informed by Allianz that this is the maximum we can expect in Turkey.

Would appreciate information if anyone has experienced this.

After a lot of toil and trouble, we have found a suitable Insurance Company (Voyager Insurance) to cover us for our holidays. Thanks to everyone for their help. Liz

Thanks Angela. We tried them earlier but they don't cover from Turkey only Cyprus, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Ireland and Spain.

Re: Travel Insurance from Turkey

I am 67 years old with no medical conditions and on no pills. I got 3 months cover for Turkey for £56 via moneysupermarket.com ... so I just checked for myself to have a one year policy for Europe and am amazed it is only from £28.36 ... see here = https://www.moneysupermarket.com/tra...ts?qr=64000794 x Angela in Side x

Re: Travel Insurance from Turkey

The issue appears to be insuring from within Turkey outbound.
Insuring from UK I get yearly for approx £80 with pre heart condition.
However this year I became uninsurable for one condition which hopefully will only be temporary so had to remain within Europe as a precaution so I could use the EHIC card if necessary.

Re: Travel Insurance from Turkey

I live in Turkey permanently, and always take out insurance when I travel. I've found the best cover is with Anadolu, not quite the same as the cover you get from UK companies, but good for health costs. I'm over 65, which has never been a problem.

Re: Travel Insurance from Turkey

Just looked on the moneysupermarket site and most only co er for 31 day trips. Any ideas for a good insurance that covers 45 days. I'm over 65 so the duration seems to lessen. The ones on there that cover for 45 days seem astronomical in price. Any suggestions?
