Re: Turkey trip

Agree with IA I would go for an hour and a half for stress free transit.
Make sure to check your luggage through to end destination and not Istanbul.

Re: Turkey trip

Can we have a truly journalistic report on your findings ie the price of efes, the welfare of the local street dog and cat population, are Mehmet and Ahmet still smoking in the bars and restaurants, is there multiple pricing, are the xxxl Lacoste t shirts actually xxxl or one size with different labels and finally do the market traders still shout ASDA price or have they moved up market now to Waitrose or middle of Lidl ?
It might help some who sold up decide on a short holiday there.

Re: Turkey trip

Transit time in Istanbul is a thorny question. If you're going through Ataturk then an hour and a half is comfortable, it's an easy stroll between terminals. HOWEVER - if the new Istanbul airport is open by then, its more difficult to say. If it's been open a while and settled into efficiency, then the same time, an hour and a half, should be ok. If it's only just opened and still having teething problems, I would want two and a half hours. Very difficult as opening has been delayed again, with no new date suggested.

I was VERY relieved to be transiting through Ataturk last week, rather than the new airport which should have opened just a week before my journey.

Regarding the unmentionable subject of property sales an emlak friend told me recently 2018 had been an excellent year for his sales
