I think...seasons greetings.

As we enter the season of apparent goodwill, not sure what the PC correct terminology is but maybe members could get by without personal attacks ie calling others stupid and ďdidnít you read my postĒ ďdidnít you understand my postĒ etc.

Also do we really need to condemn what newspapers others read, does it matter if that is what they enjoy and thatís where they source their info. It forms their opinion rightly or wrongly. No newspaper is right or wrong 100% of the time.

If we post an opinion do we really have to spend hours getting proof to satisfy some others argument that they wonít believe it unless there is proof after all we do not have access to evidence, it is an opinion based on that persons balance of probability.

If you have a point make it and debate it, donít condemn it because a member reads different media from you and use that as an excuse that they are wrong.

So lets us see some goodwill and some constructive debate.
Seasons greetings to all.

Can't we make an exception for Guardian readers though? Surely yes.

Re: I think...seasons greetings.

Bah humbug. Total nonsense. As ever many of those who sign up,to such seasonal drivel are the worst offenders all year!

I do not see the point in Xmas hypocrisy.

So there!!!

Personally I would ban Xmas as it is just a commercial rip off.

Re: I think...seasons greetings.

Although it is a rip-off in many ways commercially, people do really enjoy Christmas and look forward to a family reunion, and maybe even some contemplation over what is still a Christian festival for some. Maybe this is celebrated better in Spain, but I have been to a couple of sincere and really nice sociable events this year, so it is not all bad! I even enjoyed writing my cards and putting a personal message on them, this is an opportunity to say that special thing to someone which otherwise might be awkward or considered too sentimental.
Happy Christmas to all ....

Re: I think...seasons greetings.

Well I HATE Xmas

I have no time for Easter, New Year is a total rip off and don't get me started about Halloween, St Swithins Day and Micelmas Eve.

I will raise a glass or two this Sunday as it's 18/12 but other than that sod all other holidays

Bah!
