St Pats Day

I don't normally celebrate St Pats but as it's on a Friday and my local pub is doing this I just might

IMG_3261.jpg

All the best to those celebrating tomorrow and today if your clock has already turned.

Re: St Pats Day

Well the big day is here again and we will be celebrating the feast day of the Patron Saint of Ireland, good ol' Paddy himself!
As everyone knows, Patrick was a Welsh transvestite who fled to Ireland several millenia ago because he'd heard of the liberal GLBT scene in Dublin's Temple Bar, and was fed up being chased by smelly shepherds each night on the slopes of Snowdonia. The Dubliners, having never heard such a strange language as Welsh, thought he must be an angel speaking in tongues, and decided they needed to study a bit of Christianity just so they could make out what Paddy (as they had by now "christened" him) was saying. And so in this way, Christianity was introduced to Ireland. Paddy himself was quite the playboy, and decided to embark on what was the first ever countrywide pub crawl - he would wander Ireland and have a pint of Guinness in every village he stumbled across. The people loved him, and local politicians would try to entice him to visit their part of the country. Paddy's Facebook page was soon inundated with friend requests, and people would wait patiently for Twitter updates.
Paddy had but one failing, and it wasn't the typical Irish failing of women and booze; no, for Paddy had become addicted to smoking a certain plant, his own mary jane, or as he'd call it sarah lock. And it was on that faithful day of March 17th, that Paddy's body (still warm from the whiskey flowing through his veins) was discovered by a gardener out tending to his cabbages. Paddy's addiction to shamrock had finally done him (cl)over...

So join us as we celebrate the legend of St. Patrick. Participation requires only two things - you wear something green and you drink lots of beer!
