Children's Day. 2020

23rd. April 2020. Children's Bayram throughout Turkey.

All schoolchildren are at home on lockdown in Turkey today, as they have been for a while now. I wish them all a happy day at home with their families as we all look forward to returning to some form of normality.

On this day, at this time in the morning, I would have normally been sat with my daughter, her 4yr old son and her partner, in the schoolyard, in the sunshine at Yavrudoğan. We would have been watching her 10yr old son and all the other schoolchildren putting their hearts and souls into a well rehearsed display of song and dance for all us Grandparents, Mums and Dads.

Happy memories remain from last year, and I look forward very much to seeing these celebrations for real next year 2021.

Lets wish all our children, a happy, healthy lifetime.

"lockdown in Turkey"
Except in Didim where the Mayor paraded around Didim and Altinkum in a open top bus with school-children, totally ignoring the lockdown and social distancing.
