Re: Sunset Bay Owners
apologies, just going off the earlier quote, if it was just me that wanted it, and nobody else did, i wouldnt expect others to subsidise my broadband.
how much would it cost then about £6000 ?

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
Hi,
We were asked on an early visit out last year if we would pay for access, and we picked up a form from the maintenance company office, and voted 'YES'. I assume many others voted yes. Any owner from our development I spoke to about it, all voted 'YES'. And, we did ask in the summer about a 'dongle' but were informed at the vodafone shop that it had to be on a monthly contract paid through a turkish bank. We decided it wasn't for us, as we aren't there full time, and don't like feeding money into an account that I still don't quite understand the system, re- they seem to up their bank charges with every direct payment I make.

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
Sorry joyce
I was under the impression that most on this thread didnt want it, expenditure like that would normally be put to the home owners at an agm, my concern was that they had commisioned a system that nobody was contracted to, or it wasnt a decision made at an agm and duly notarised.
come bill paying time someone has to pay for it.
hope it works out for you, my dongle isnt on contract, i just top up, i dont take any software updates or heavy downloads. just forum and e mails and msn
all the best
martin

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
Hi Martin,
I don't know what I'm on about with dongles and the like, I still take a photograph of my feet every time I answer my mobile. Regards the thread, I believe I'm part of the silent majority.

Joyce
I voted for the wi-fi when we were asked as for an initial £60 and £30 per year I thought it was great value... No messing around, especially at winter time when the nights are closing in

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
Hi
I spoke to Deniz, at Mavi today, and he told me that Wi-Fi was 75 TL a year.
I also spoke to Deniz about maintenance fees and although there was a maintenance agreement, he could not give me a breakdown of the mainternance costs as the maintenance was contracted out to another company.
As I am not a resident yet, can anyone inform me if this was known, about the contacted-out situation, or was discussed by the management committee (MC)?
If maintenance was contracted out, then surely the MC should have agreed or have been informed. I cannot see how that obviates him from producing accounts. Or is this some sort of legal loophole.
I have a property in Didim, and we paid £300 last year, so £660 does seem a bit steep.
Deniz told me that one reason was that they had to pay NI on their workers, as they earned more than xx TL. How does he know that if an outside company is involved?
He also told me that there was additional costs involved as there were night watchmen on the premises.
He alos told me about the swimming pool, the gardens, the cleaning of staircases etc, which is most likely common to general maintenance agreements.
So, the only additional costs that I can obviously see is for the night watchmen.
I am not sure if the same company is involved in all Mavi sites, of which I believe are 9.
I did query about his email address, and, apparently, some emails go to their London office.
BTW I have just noticed that Mavi is a partner of Odek.

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
We voted yes too!!! It's a great Idea. As Talkinman says, when you're trying to rent it out, which apartment do you think has more going for it? one with wi-fi or without? Maybe shows an attention to detail that rivals have missed!!
Yes its £9'700 (or whatever it is) for the first year, but that includes installation. Some people just cant see the wood for the trees
I'm only keeping ya's going........ chill everybody please!! Most of us spent 100'000 Euros on an apartment thats now worth about 65'000. Really.....£30 a year is the least of our worries. Get over there, get into Joes, enjoy it and stop taking things so personal.
Cheers
Larry

Re: Sunset Bay Owners
Hello
We were out a couple of weeks ago invested in the wifi, found it very handy even got to listed to Chris Evans at a reasonable hour. Not every bodies cup of tea but we enjoy it. Signal was a little iffy at times but in general it did what it said on the tin.
Hotel owners have a plan to start charging for the use of sunbeds and facilities 20TL per day each even if you use the bar and have a meal a little rich I think. Complex was looking ok and I thought there were improvements in Gulluk too. The new location of the market and its layout was much better, a couple of new bars too.
Looking forward to our next trip mid Jun.
Regards
