Question water registration gulluk

Hello to you all.I originally registered re my water supply in April 2010 with the then water supplier TASK, I now believe AKFEN now are the water supplier.The question I am asking does anyone know if I have to re-register or do my details automatically get transferred.

We've been taking our water since 2007 and when the change came recently there was no requirement to re- register. The payment is on a debit.

I have recently received emails from Mavi Realty stating; the water has been cut off due to lack of documentation. In order to reconnect, owners will have to register. Owners like myself who do not live in Turkey will need to authorise Mavi Realty by way of a trust deed to handle matters. There is also a fee of 100 for handling, translating and notarising passport copies.

Based on Mushroom's comments above, about the auto re-registraton of water when the change from Task to Afken happened, are either of you or anybody else in the Gulluk domain able to assist further on this.

I'm mindfull the answer could be a simple one, however, I have not been out to Gulluk since 2009 and trusted Mavi to handle matters for me. On this occasion their response to me lacks clarity and common sense.

There was a time when we had to re-register with Task and it was about 4-5 years ago.
At that time it required the owner of the property to turn up at the Task office with a previous bill and some form of ID, then sign a form.
There was no charge if it was done before a certain date, but there was a penalty if the date passed.
That could be your predicament.
As for paying Mavi, I think I would be getting in touch with the water company first !

W have also been asked to send Mavi our passports, Tapu Power of Attorney plus 100 to enable them to deal with our water supply which has been cut off. As we have friends using the apartment shortly the matter is urgent. We contacted a Turkish neighbour who has been to Afken; they say that both Odek & Mavi were asked to deal with this many many times over the last five years or more. As nothing was done Afken cut off the water to force the position. They are not making any charge but the deed must be signed by the owner who has to prove his or her identity & show the Tapu. So, go there personally with the documents & save 100. This should have been dealt with years ago!

Hi Everyone,

Please could anyone confirm for me if the AFKEN water offices are still in the same building in Gulluk - the one on the main coast road in front of where the market is held? We will be out in a couple of weeks and need to sort our water out.
