Residence Permit

When I applied to renew my Residence Permit in Bodrum I was told by the Police that it would be posted to my home in 4 weeks. It has been 6 weeks and it still has not arrived.

Does anyone know how long these Permits are taking to be processed at the moment?

Any help would be appreciated, thank you.

Hello,
In this area of Manavgat on the South coast, if your residency has not arrived by post, then it can be collected from the Police Station where the application was submitted.
I should check there first because if it's not claimed after a reasonable time(?), it will be returned to Ankara.

Re: Residence Permit

Don't forget, that's 4 weeks Turkish time. We have a Turkish calendar, there are between 2 and 10 days in the week and several of the months have no name. This allows for flexibility in the work schedule.
The watches you buy out here don't start until 11am and there is no time between 3pm and 6pm. They usually arrive to fix or deliver something at their 4pm, which is our 7pm.

It's snowing here in Akbuk this morning, 2deg outside, Soba roaring away filling the house with woodsmoke.

Re: Residence Permit

Last year permits were taking approx 2 months to arrive in Alanya. Good suggestion to pop down to the police station as they have all the info on computer and will know where your application is in the system.

We are off topic I know, but I couldn't resist responding to that.

Re: Residence Permit

Charlieparker, there is no rhyme nor reason to the length of time RP's are taking to come back. Some here in Bodrum have come back in less than 4 weeks, others up to 8 weeks .A married couple put both theirs in together, the husbands came back in 6 weeks, and his wifes still hasn't arrived. I call into the PTT at Konacik weekly and am allowed to go through all the envelopes of RP's and i post names the same night on my site on Facebook.
