There is sympathy for the refugees plight and some slight resentment of Europe complaining not wanting them on their backdoor ,whilst quite happy for Turkey which now holds the record .for hosting the largest refugee pop in the World .
Turkey now holds 1,7 mil and counting ,so yes some turn a blind eye can you blame them ?

Also Turkey has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with FRONTEX, the EU’s border management agency, to cooperate against illegal immigration.

The sudden influx onto the coast was because The Turkish Govt cracked down on the huge tanker ghost ships that were cast adrift on Italy shores .So another outlet was needed ,by the Mafia trafficers and that was sall boats on the coast .

I take nothing away from Turkeys efforts on dealing with the refugees. Lets not forget though, they are one of the few regional countries who could have acted months ago. Instead they chose to sit a few hundred yards away on their tanks whilst Khobani was being shelled & under siege. They had the backing of NATO & refused to act................ Certainly not saying they have brought this on themselves but.............could have done better maybe.
Anyway we are where we are, everyone is up to their necks in it but the refugees are literally bloody sinking quicker than the rest of us.

All that will happen is they will board without life jackets (causing more deaths ) and it will go exclusively into the hands of the mafia groups who can get their hands on illegal boats , all that will achieve is the price will go up, or boats will be stolen it is like a sieve close one hole another opens .

Look at Calis they put a fence around ,they move further back along the track to get on , they are still boarding yrucks how many years down the line
after all the controls put in place .

Who said anything about banning the sale of life jackets , The Turkish Government if they want to can record the purchase of life jackets against the boat registration unless they don't want to stop these people smugglers

Of course we cant, noted countries go to hell & back to put tyrants from Africa into courts but not from anywhere else (excluding former Yugoslavia).
In Erdogans case, unfortunately he's the here & now..............Blair & Bush on the other hand have just "moved on". Bring them both back if they can still get the military back in the ME.

Well no-one knows until they try
It must be worrying for the Turkish citizens if Turkey is unable to prevent people leaving Turkey illegally it means that they are unable to prevent people arriving in Turkey illegally, How many terrorists in Turkey have arrived this way

Yes it seem to be a problem for most countries keeping Terrorists out now a days , seeing the outrages shootings around the world .

The govt is always sending terrorist famlies to their home countries on their trail to join DAESH .

Whilst not always agreeing with the Erdogan govt .

Turkey has deported more than 2,100 foreign fighters to their countries,

Foreign miniter Bilgiç told reporters, adding that more than 3,700 had been subjected to interrogation at special risk analysis units at airports.
Some 1,450 of them were sent back after being declared suspects, he added.

Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said Wednesday, a day after one soldier was killed another went missing in a suspected attack by ISIL on the Syrian border with Kilis

Turkish officials have stressed the failure of European Union countries to halt the travel of foreign fighters and called on them to intensify intelligence sharing with Turkey on alleged terrorists.

Ankara describes the foreign fighter issue as "complicated" while calling on EU countries to stop foreign fighters as they leave their own countries.

Turkey has slapped a ban on 20,000 suspected foreign fighters, preventing them from heading to Syria and Iraq
