Re: Boat trips from Gundogan

Last year we went to Kalkan and hired a boat for the whole day just for the 5 of us. It only cost 100 including all the food which was fantastic (drinks were extra though). Could we do anything like that either from Gundogan or Yalikavak and if so who is recommended. We are over next month and would like to get it booked for July as we have friends coming over with us and they want to do it too . Should be 9 of us this time.

Hi Owena/Paul
Yes there have been daily boat trips for a several years from Gundogan.
At the moment I can think of two............Mercan restaurant near the harbour/jendarme, organise one.And Ankor hotel and restaurant (just before Baia Otel)organise another one. Can sort it for you.
Excellent day out ! Either goes north to Turkbuku, Golkoy,Paradise bay and a few other deserted bays.
Or south to Yalikavak and other bays.
I would happily go out every day on a boat and go on my own sometimes.
Everybody friendly and lunch good & included in the price but drinks extra.

Lynne

Re: Boat trips from Gundogan

Our Daughters Family hired a Gullet from Yalikavak last year & sailed to Gumersluk ( if my spelling is correct).
But they thought it was qhuite chopy.
I have sailed the blue cruise on private charter sevral times & once ventured from Bodrum to Yalikavak in September that was rough.
The captain did warn us of the winds around that time of year but we wanted to go.
will sail from Bodrun next time.

Re: Boat trips from Gundogan

Hi olwena,
When we're in Yalikavak we always get the Sandima boat, which is run by Fediee and his Mum does the cooking, which is out of this world! You can do private hire for the day and this is well worth it if you have a group of 7 or 8 or more. It usually costs around 15 and thats including a good tip. If there's only a few of you, there would normally be 11 or 12 people out for the day. If you want to get involved you can chat to all sorts of people but then again if you'd rather just chill you can do that too. One of the trips heads out to Gumisluk ( sorry, i know thats not spelt right either), it's lovely to moor up and get off the boat for an hour for a walk around and then head back out to the bay for lunch.( there's a mooring fee here which is only a few pounds)
You come off the boat completely chilled out. We always try and get out once a week when we're out. I couldn't recommend the Sandima enough as anyone we've ever took out always loves it.
What could be better than having a little sleep, eating, swimming, eating, sleeping and not necessarily in that order! Try fediee mums cake, it's yummy.
Your'll find the Sandima in the old harbour and i think it's the third boat in from Yalikavak cafe. If you don't see Fediee about just ask someone in the coffee shops and they'll tell you where he is, as he's usually not far away.
Enjoy.
