Small Hotel in Gundogan

Hello Guys.

We are staying in Kusadasi in June 09, however we would like to surprise some Turkish friends in Gundogan by 'popping over' for a couple of days. We are hiring a car for the 2 weeks that we are there, so transport is not an issue.

Can anyone suggest a small but comfortable hotel that we can try for a 2-night stay. We will need 1 twin/double and 1 single, dates can be adjusted.

We know about the big hotels, such as Green Beach and Baia Bodrum, but these aren't our particular cup of tea. We have also tried all the hotel booking sites on the internet but with no success.

We have tried to contact the Begonvil Hotel, (possibly out of season?) which is the type of place we would prefer.

Does anyone know of, or can recommend, something similar ie. small and close to the Town Centre?

Thanks in advance.

You could try asking Lynne - she lives in Gundogan. There is a really nice one on the seafront in the village called 1 Villa and a few others too, but we have never stayed in any.

Thanks for that, but other than the 2 large properties that I mentioned in my original post, they don't have any properties in Gundogan itself.

Hi Luddendenturk
Best one on the beach according to people that have stayed there is
Istanbul Place.
There is also...Antique Han Otel / Costa Fariliya /Begonvil /Katamaran /Cennet /Oliviar/
All of these are on the beach and very central. Only one that may be open at the moment is Istanbul Palace. You could easily leave booking untill May when everything starts opening
Happy to help
Lynne

Hi Lynne,

Thanks for the comprehensive reply. I've made a note of your suggestions and will send enquiries out later in the year as you suggest.

I didn't think there would be such a wide choice available.

Thanks once again.

Speaking from personal experience, as we live in Gundogan and either ourselves or friends have stayed in various of the smaller hotels - I would recommend firstly Costa Farilya

http://www.costafarilya.com/

They are open over the winter if you want to enquire, it is really pleasant and staff very friendly.

The Anka next door and the Begonvil adjacent are also good value choices. All are right on the beautiful waterfront, I'm sure you will enjoy your visit to Gundogan!

Best wishes

Thanks for the advice. We have been to Gundogan before, 2008 - although we stayed in a Villa. We would prefer the Begonvil, as we have called in there before, and like the look of it!

Thanks for your comments, and we will also have a look at the Anka.

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
