Mobile hot spots

I have been making enquiries about mobile hot spots as I have an ipad and want to bring it to Turkey and need internet. Vodafone shop has them for 250 liras plus about 70 liras for sim card. Can anyone tell me if the connection is good and how many computers can you run off them at any one time. What sort of radius or distance does it cover in the home, can you use it upstairs if device is downstairs? Any information would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Angela

Re: Mobile hot spots

I have a Turkcell MultiVinn, runs about 8mg speed. Allows 8 devices to connect at a time.

Signal isn't wonderful upstairs I suspect due to 1 ft thick cement ceilings/floors.

Great device, wouldn't be without it.

Any other questions just ask?

Many thanks

Re: Mobile hot spots

MultiVinn is a standalone dongle, perfect for Ipad or tablet use when there is no USB port.

This is the one I have.

I looked at the Turkcell website a few days ago

4gb of data is 39TL - lasts 1 month
8GB is 69tl - also lasts 1 month

They have a 3 month pack at 79TL for 10GB which I bought last summer and it lasted really well.

If you have a Turkish bank card you can top-up on-line here.

Hope this helps.

Re: Mobile hot spots

Think it was 200tl plus 45tl for sim card.

Cheaper than vodafones prices in your first post.

Re: Mobile hot spots

We have now bought the turkcell multivinn which we have up and running. Is there any way on my ipad that I can check how many GB I have used or remains during the month. Been looking but can find nothing.
Many thanks
Angela

Re: Mobile hot spots

You could reset the usage stats (there are some aren't there) on the ipad which would allow you to see used Gb and Mb.

Did you try using the search facility above? You'd have found this thread which should answer your query.

Turkcall multivinn
