Laser eyes

Can anyone recommend a good clinic/hospital that performs laser eye treatment in Istanbul and any idea on cost.

Thanks in advance.

I recently researched this as I wanted treatment and settled on
Medical Tourism Packages Europe | Health Tourism Turkey

There are several locations in Istabul. I went; it was relaxed, highly professional, well organised and with the most up to date equipment. Unfortunately they said that my eyes were unsuitable so I can't say about the result.

I've just come back from Istanbul, having been to the Goz Dunyasi Hastanesi. Agree very professional, and would recommend anyone considering laser eye surgery to go ahead and get it done! After having consultations in the UK last year, I was told I would not need distance glasses, but will still need reading glasses. I had Intralase Lasik, and I am happy to say I dont need any glasses at all now!
The cost quoted was between 600 - 1300 Euros, I paid 990Euros for the operation, and 195TL for the initial consultation. Less than half the price of the UK!
On a seperate note, does anyone know in the Bodrum area of anywhere I could donate my old glasses now, like they do to Visionaid in the UK ??
Sandra

Re: Laser eyes

Hi SLEEPY. Last September I want to an eye clinic in Altintepe, Bostanci. The hospital is private and came highly recommended by my sister-in-law who is a doctor. The hospital name is KIZILAY. http://www.kizilaysaglikgrubu.com/me...spx?merkezID=1 The specialist that I saw told me that I now need regular checkups as I am developing cateracts. The surgery will cost 250TL per eye and takes only a few hours. Of course I have full health care here under the state system. If you are also covered what you pay is a percentage of the cost to private patients. I realize this is not lazer treatment but you haven’t said what you need doing.

I looked into it here in the UK some years ago, but even over the phone when asked and I told them the results that were shown on my then recent eye test record, as it had a - (minus) next to the eye test figure and was then informed that laser surgery would not be suitable for me.

Re: Laser eyes

I checked in the Uk in 2009 as well, however apparently technology has moved on as friends who have bifocal glasses have just had their eyes done in Izmir

Seems like it might be worth getting an up to date opinion................

Good luck with your treatment

Re: Laser eyes

I've just noticed this morning that I spent ten minutes answering a year old post that someone had revived. Pathetic!!!

Re: Laser eyes

Kemerkid, I 'revived' this thread for two reasons,
1. so that I dont start another thread with the same title,
2. it is still a relevant subject that interests many people, especially wanting up to date prices and recommendations, which is exactly what I was doing. I came on here a couple of months ago for that reason, to see if there were any recommendations, that is what the forum is for isnt it?
Sorry if you thought it was pathetic!
