Thumbs up Alternative Heating methods for winter....

I have a friend here at the house right now and have just bought a unit for heating the very large lounge we have - the complex we live on does not allow the use of a woodburner.

Its LPG (Liquid) operated and very clean & efficient.

Output: HIGH : 35.000 BTU/h - LOW : 19.000 BTU/h

Theres a website here....

www.gasaki.com

The model is the Laser 595FF

The unit is supplied with complete installation including the LPG depot (210lt).

A outside flue is required.

Comes with a 2 year guarantee and service is available 7 days from Kusadasi.

Areas covered include Kuadasi, Izmir, Didim, Altinkum, Datca, Fethiye and Alanya.

Total installed price is 1520YTL

The price for LPG is currently 2.070YTL/Litre

Inşallah we wıll be warm thıs wınter

The normal prıce for thıs unıt ıs around the 1,900YTL - Anyone interested, then please mail me.

Hi Merv

Do they not have the free standing gas fires out there that you put a butane gas bottle in the back and you can wheel into any room, used to have one years ago when I first brought a house, they were great, only down side was used to create condensation on the windows.

Yes they do Brian however the heating is limited to small areas and the gas bottles are expensive now and expire quickly.

Thats the one's merv, are the bottles that expensive then, only you have reminded me I should get a spare one for the villa in case the one I have runs out while renters are using it on the cooker.

Efficient for cooking but (within moderation) but NOT for heating.

Do they have the electric underfloor heating which is placed on the floor before the tiles are laid. Very cheap even the cost is effective

How about a wood burner, lots of Turks use these, some can be dual fuel, wood and coal.

Yes Susan - although it serves well for a large open plan design.

We had it working last night and it provided more than enough heat on the low setting - I should add my lounge is 50ft long.
