Vacuum cleaners

How much are we looking at for a vacuum cleaner in Altinkum? We were thinking about bringing one over from the UK but is it were worth the trouble?

Re: Vacuum cleaners

I wouldn't have thought it was worth the struggle to bring one over. Remember you have tiled or wooden floors so you don't need the power of hoovering carpets. We got one for about 50YTL in a local DIY store which is adequate - rugs just get shaken over the balcony.

Re: Vacuum cleaners

Well the rugs we have are pretty big so it would be pretty difficult giving them a shake out.
Kipa... it sounds promising, but we don't have one in Altinkum unfortunately so I couldn't really keep up to date with their offers

Re: Vacuum cleaners

Hey Pete

I priced them last time and they ranged from 130 ytl to 300 in electrical shops. I thought they would be cheaper in Bodrum but they were double in some placse for same model!
They had a wet n dry thing that was quite big in Migros for 79 ytl but that was the cheapest I saw by far. I didnt trek to Kos Tas and I think I'll be doing what Yildez suggested on another thread(?) mayb i dreamt this -anyway it was and to put a cylinder in my hand luggage and the pipe things in the case next time am over as I can't be faffed looking anymore lol
Good Luck :0)

Re: Vacuum cleaners

Pete:

I brought a Philips in my suitcase on my last visit. Managed to fit it into my suitcase along with half a dozen sheets and other bits and bobs. (Just brought whatever clothes I could squeeze into my hand luggage). They were selling the same make and model hoover in Kipa for maybe 50 euro more than I paid in Dublin.
