Customs exemption for goods, price of which doesn’t surpass 100 Euros, except for alcohol -tobacco products



All kinds of goods, sent from abroad to a person within the Turkish Customs Zone by a letter, by post package, or by fast cargo transportation and real value of which don’t exceed 100 Euros per each sending except for alcohol, alcohol products, tobacco, and tobacco products will be exempted from customs duty.
The decision of the Cabinet concerning the issue was published in yesterday’s Official Gazette and entered into force. According to this, Foreign Trade Undersecretariat will have the authority to determine the qualities, specifications, amount, and values of goods to be imported by post, to inspect special and obligatory situations, conclude them, and to take measure to prevent violation of this right. The exemption concerning giftware coming by post will not be applied for alcohol, alcohol products, tobacco, and tobacco products.
The mentioned exemption will be limited with the determined amounts for 5 colognes, lavender, perfume, scent and lotion, in bottles of maximum 120 milliliter, coffee, tea, chocolate, food produced from sugar and medical tools to meet personal needs of passengers and drug.
