Staying in Dalyan Sep and Oct, weather ?
Hi we are lucky to have been able to rent a house for two months Sep and Oct can any one tell us what weather is loke then.
We live in England and love Dalyan, i am due to retire in two weeks time yipeeee.
What do you all get up to want to be part of community not just sit by pool.
We are planning on going out again next year for around six months so any advice would be welcome, many thanks Joan and Norm

Re: Staying in Dalyan Sep and Oct, weather ?
September in Dalyan is bliss, still plenty warm enough to swim and go out in just shorts and T-shirts and as the month progresses the tourists start to drift way. October it starts to get a bit darker at nights and if its nice you can carry on swimming through the month but other years by mid October its getting a bit cold to really fancy it, of course most of the tourists will be gone and the place starts to wind down for winter - the market quietens down and some bargains can be had from stall holders that are packing up or selling off the last of the summer gear.

Re: Staying in Dalyan Sep and Oct, weather ?
Yes the weather in September and October is very nice - October being a little chillier.
But September is just the right temperature for swimming in the sea.
Dalyan is beautiful in winter very peaceful and the locals have more time to sit and chat with you and everyone in general seems happier.
There are places you can go to meet up with expats and have a chat and lessons that you can attend to learn Turkish.
We have no doubt you will not be disappointed.

Re: Staying in Dalyan Sep and Oct, weather ?
Hi Joan and Norm
I'd agree with RichnKim that Dalyan is very peaceful in the winter and I personally prefer getting out and about in the cooler weather.
There's plenty to do here, although I found that I had to hunt around a bit for activities that interested me (dance classes, aerobics, yoga, cookery classes). My partner and I also do music lessons. I suppose it depends on what you like doing. There's plenty of places to explore around here too. Lovely walks on the beach and/or hills, followed by a relaxing hammam!
It's easy to make friends here with both expats and locals. All are very friendly.
Best wishes.

Re: Staying in Dalyan Sep and Oct, weather ?
Thank you everyone, we are really looking forward to spending time in Dalyan when it is a bit cooler, we only returned to England last week from Dalyan and wow was it hot!!!
Nice to hear it will be easy to make friends with locals and ex pats, the cookery lessons sound good, husband wants to learn the language.
What kind of dancing ? Do they have any Tai chi classes ?
Thanks for update on weather, i will pack a couple of jackets. bye for now Joan
