Smile Hello To All

Well at last i have managed to work out how to introduce myself. I am not very good with computers, i think this laptop hates me. Maybe computers are like dogs, they can tell if your scared of them and bark accordingly.

I came to Turkey for the first time last year in May and loved it. I returned in September and stayed for three weeks and loved it more.
This year I came at the end of may for two weeks but stayed for six. During this time I decided to live part time in Turkey, spending half the year in England ( a boy has to earn) and the rest of the time in Gumbet.

In the uk I drive HGV's so work is always available, when in Turkey I intend to swim, take photos (my hobby) and drink lots of Effes with all the nice people
I keep meeting. I will also be selling Greetings cards and Wrapping paper etc so let me know if there is anything you need. (Xmas is coming)
There will be a web site available soon I hope, I will let you all know as soon as it is finished.

Could someone let me know if there is an option to advertise business products on the TLF. The things I have will be very popular with the British living in Turkey, although I think I will have to restrict the sales to the Bodrum Peninsular due to quantity of supplies.

Having said that if anyone has any knowledge of how to import stock into Turkey then I would love to hear from you.

At the moment I am just counting the weeks until I can get back to the sun and fun. My plan is to return at the begining of September and stay for one month then back to England until December. Hopefully spending all of December and some of January in Gumbet.

It will be very interesting to be there out of season and see how different it is without all the Tourists and stuff.

Well i guess thats enough for now I must try and post this(hope it works).
Finally let me say that although I have some great friends in Turkey (lots of them, im popular because im lovely....lol) there is always room and time to make many many more.

REMEMBER LIFE IS SHORT AND FRIENDS ARE LIKE FIVER'S. YOU CANT TAKE THEM WITH YOU WHEN YOU GO BUT THATS NO REASON NOT TO HAVE AS MANY AS POSSIBLE WHILST YOUR HERE.

bye bye for now.......

Ian, Welcome to the forum and to the Bodrum peninsula. Good luck with your business venture, One thing you should try inthe way of advertising is the "bodrum Echo" and of course word of mouth, maybe have some of your stock at various places, restaurants, cafes etc.

Hi Ian welcome to the forum from another Ian Jones!!
Plenty of information on here and try the search button if you're looking for something specific.
As regards commercial advertising, send Mushtaq a PM and he will tell you about an advertising banner and a link to your website.

Re: Hello To All

Hi Ian - I envy you spending half the year in Gumbet. We have got a place in Gumbet as well and I'm busy trying to work out how I can do the same as you as six months here and six months there sounds ideal. We're next out there in September and then hoping to return for a week in October as my first grandchild is due in two weeks' time and her mum and dad can't wait to take her over to Gumber to introduce her to all our friends over there so she'll probably be 10-11 weeks when she has her first hol in Gumbet - I'm sure she'll grow to love it as much as we do over the years.

Good luck with everything you do in Gumbet, keep us posted.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the forum, I enjoyed reading your post....
You would like to set up a small business with greeting cards and wrapping paper in Turkey ? I wonder if that will sell, and from what I've heard, setting up a business in Turkey is not that simple
Still, I wish you all the best, and well, yes, you English do have the nices greeting cards ever, that must be said !
