Hi everyone , we are Ian and Mary from sunny York, England, hoping to buy in the next few weeks so thought it might be useful to join this forum to help stop ourselves from being led astray by the wrong People!!. We are looking to buy something around £20k or £30k in either Kusadasi or Altinkum, any one any ideas about the two places , good or bad.
Some people tell me don't buy anything built pre 2000 is that accurate ( ie build quality) Will I enjoy it there ?

Hello Ian and Mary,
Welcome to the forum, have you visited Turkey yet?
I was in Altinkum a few weeks ago for the first time, quite a busy place, lots going on there too. Lot of new developments near the main beach, and you should have no problems finding a nice place within your budget.
There are quite a lot of Complexes dotted around the bays, these tend to be owned by Turkish people from the cities, a lot of properties are available in these places, these can be cheap, you could pickup a small house within you budget.
Some of these properties are not well kept, because the owners don't use them much, but they seem to be popular with British people, who are snapping them up, often buying more than one.
There are loads of estate agents in Altinkum, the property market is booming there, and in full swing at the moment, because of the holiday season.
I have only dealt with one agent there which is Sunset Homes, although I didn't buy anything this time round, they were very helpful and spent a great deal of time with me showing a range of properties they had.
I'm sure someone else can give you more information about other agents and Kusadasi, which is only about an hour away, but I think properties are a little more expensive.
Good luck with your house hunting, please let us know how you get on.
Mushtaq
