Hi All,
Just joined the forum a few days ago, have been quietly studying and am very impressed!
My wife Linda and I live in the North of Scotland. We have been going to Turkey on and off for a few years , our first trip was to Istanbul(brilliant), second to Marmaris(not particularly impressed), we then came back again when we stayed in the Yel hotel in Ovacik , were fairly impressed with the area, enough to come back in Spring 2003 when we stayed at the Green Anatolia in Hisaronu. We then became even more impressed and came back in the October, and then again in May and October last year with friends.
We are now extremely impressed with the area and the friendliness of everyone and intend to return for a week in May for the sixth time!
We feel that this time we would seroiusly like to look at buying a property,(especially as our son has now finished at University and is finding his own way in the world!)
We think we would prefer to buy in Hisaronu/Ovacik area, probably a two bedroom apt with shared pool, looking to spend in the region of £50K.
We are starting to trawl the internet and hope to have possibilities narrowed down to half a dozen or so properties ready for our visit.( I like scuba diving so need a few days for that!)
Any thoughts/advice from members would be much appreciated, We would not be looking at moving out full time. Is there much of a market for rental income, I thought perhaps there was not much milage with hotel rates being so reasonable?
Is access to and from Dalaman airport easy if you dont go with holiday company?
Thanks and looking forward to many more posts.
John

Hiya John and Linda and welcome to the forum, doesn't Turkey just get you? I'm sure Lorraine will be able to help you both out here and John the teenager (I'm sure) would love to go out for a beer with you when you next you go over My friend has got a place in Hisaranu and he rents it out every week throughout the summer months. There are plenty of companies to go with, I can give you a list of them if you want.
Go for it John as I think the property is going to up and up now and it will probably only cost you the price of your son at uni
Look forward to your posts and once again, welcome to our friendly forum.
