Have Found this Forum very interesting and a lot of good advise.

We are the Orpins, Dave, Jeanette and three Boys Adam, Ben and Bradley. We have been going to Turkey Altinkum for the last four years and love it each time we return. Last August we stayed at the Esra Apartment. we had stayed at the Peyda Aqua twice before, but when we went to visit last hol we found it had been very run down. We went out this time for a holiday but just to look not buy, but we couldn't resist. We did a bit of researching by talking to English People who had brought out in Altinkum and found that it was a lot easier than we could have ever imagined, so we took the plunge and brought our apartment with Anatolian Turkish Homes. It is near the Esra Hotel, Behind Peyda opposite the New Dophin Homes (being built at the moment). It is a small block of seven with a swimming pool. We brought the 4 bedrom Duplex Penthouse. We havn't received our military checks yet but hopefully they will be soon. We are going out the end of March to furnish it. [8D]

Hi and Welcome
we brought our duplex last May its a few min walk from you,by the Sultan aparts, good luck with furniture we did ours last Sept, i dont think you can insure until miltray checks are back so be careful, there have been a few breakins around this area, most important get your grills fitted.

Hello Orpins, I know exactly where you bought - well done. I own one of the Peyda Apartments and intend to rent it as a source of income when I eventually live there - my 'home' is near 2nd beach. I don't know if you got to look at my Peyda apartment last year, it is the show apartment for the complex and it is gorgeous inside. I know what you mean by the complex looking run down - we made comments last year, particularily by the end of season. I think because 3 of the 4 blocks are for sale that the management (or whoever) don't seem to care about the general condition of the complex but if they are wanting them to sell it's obviously the first site that greets potential buyers/renters isn't it? Quite a few are sold now and I hope that other owners along with myself will be able to exert some pressure to improve the communal areas, let's hope so as I think the Peyda will be a good investment as long as it is managed correctly.

Hi Trevor

Yes we did hear about some sort of split and that they were selling half of them off. I agree with you. The Apartments have great partential they are very spacious and have two lovely big pools, although they were basic when we went there for our holiday, we loved it.

Thanks for the advise sylvia

We are on the second and top floor, but was planning on having security bars put on for height saftey more than anything.

I'm hoping that our agent is going to come back any time now to say the checks have been done, so that when we go out we can do all the insurance, open bank accounts everything so it will be ready for renting in the summer.

We meet a couple of ladies who have brought the ground floor which is a two bedroom, they said it cost them about £2000 to furnish, we had a peep and it was very nice. We have a four bedroom what do you think it would cost to furnish. We want to rent it out to friends and family. Have you got any advise please?

We have 2 single bedrooms left to furnish, did all lounge, kitchen 2 double bedroom, most of plastic furniture and it cost us 3,500, but we brought good stuff as we are not renting ours out, i think it all depends on what you are going to put in it, that also included, tv hifi sat dish etc. We were told after we had brought our stuff that is we had gone to Izmir it would have been so much cheaper and they deliver

I have budgeted between £3000 - £4000. Does that price include curtains, cutlery, towels, bed linen , kitchen equipment like plates, cups all the little things needed.

Our agent is taking us to his brothers place outside of Altinkum, he said he will do a good price for us. We have ordered two double beds @ £280 each does that sound reasonable.
