Smile Hello Everybody

I have never been to Turkey but am considering moving there because I have heard its a good place to be and there is a large British community as well as cheap property (about 50K). I am looking for a place near the sea which has plenty of English speaking people and facilities such as gyms and yoga classes (esp. yoga). I am 66 years old and wanting a place to stay for the long-term which feels like home. Any hints gratefully received.
Might be meeting you one day soon.

Re: Hello Everybody

Can I recommend that you try renting first to check that you like the area. Be careful when and if you buy, there are lots of genuine people in Turkey, but, as everywhere, lots of sharks too. There are also plenty of experienced and helpful people on TLF, make good use of their advice and welcome to the forum.

Hi and welcome to the forum. If you've never been to Turkey take BruceK's advice and rent first in the area you fancy, then you have the option of visiting other areas to help you decide the best place for you. Plenty of info on here about most expat areas so enjoy your voyage of discovery.

Hello and welcome to the forum. We spend most of our time in Yalikavak, right on the sea, lovely place, good expat community, you will make loads of friends. Good advice to rent first though and maybe try a few places.

Re: Hello Everybody

Welcome, if you've never been to Turkey why don't you take a couple of holidays first to look at different areas and see if the culture suits you. Presume from your age you are retired so just take your time and then follow BruceK's advice. It's very cheap to rent here so you could maybe try longer stays in different places !

Re: Hello Everybody

I thınk you would be better of just rentıng and not buyıng at all then ıts so much easıer to move ıf you fancy a change.I would never buy off plan here anyway, but ıf you must buy search for an older property wıth all documentatıon and teethıng problems sorted.
