hi all - soon to be bride

Hey all, thanks for adding me into the forum. I'm from uk and I'm planning on marrying my long term turkish fiancee some time this Year.
We haven't decided if we are going to live in uk or tr yet so we are going down the route of potentially applying for visas which takes all the fun out of wedding planning. I'm sure some of you can agree!
I would love to get some advice about my upcoming wedding and possible move- although I've done that part before. And of course help with any advice needed from other members.
Looking forward to chatting!

K x

Re: hi all - soon to be bride

Congratulations to you both and welcome to the forum. Not sure what advice you are looking for re your 'upcoming wedding' . I guess you know enough about your fiancee to want to marry him and spend your life with him.
Echoing TNT 123, will it be a big wedding in Turkey, are there family expectations, culture appreciation, where will you live, are you intending to work, has your fiancee a job, futurerospects, the usual things when one is planning a life with another and also considering moving from the UK

Re: hi all - soon to be bride

thank you all for your well wishes! I've lived in tr before i returned to uk due to illness unfortunately. We wouldn't be living with inlaws or even in the same city if we decided that tr was the place for us.
As for advice, just general advice i was hoping to gain about the actual marriage process in tr. We are hoping to get married in istanbul with immediate family, then a party at a later stage with everyone else.
I don't have a lot of time off work so trying to get a list of the ultimate things we need before travelling over for a pre wedding sorting out holiday. think we will need holiday when it's all over lol.

Thanks again,

K x

Re: hi all - soon to be bride

You may find the link below useful. I would recommend that your fiancee goes and has a talk with the registry where you will married as there have been some changes to the wedding laws in the last month. I'm not totally sure what the new laws are and that the link below may not be accurate.
