Hello Again From Higgy

Back in 2012 we said goodbye to the Forum as we had decided to
emigrate to New Zealand.

We lasted 8 months, keeping it short the Teaching jobs dried up and we
decided to pull the plug and return before our money ran out.

So family, dog, car and furniture all came back to the UK, we firstly
stayed with mum in Sheffield for 12 months, then we went to our little
cottage in France and our 10 year old daughter went to the village
school.

She made good friends and her French came on in leaps and bounds, we
then returned to our house in rural Northumberland which fortunately had
been rented out.

So been back over a year and we have settled right back into our former
life.

Booked to visit our little place in Mavisehir Easter 2016, made contact with
our Emlak only to be informed it had been sold about 3 years ago but they did
not know how to contact us.

Money in our Turkish bank let's hope we have made some interest, but it
depends how our sale money was deposited. Fingers crossed on that one.

So out at Easter staying in an apartment in Didum, so looking forward to our
stay of 10 days.

Might bump into some members.

Unfortunately with the exchange rate compared to 3 years ago I think any interest on your savings will be wiped out when you withdraw your cash 'especially if it was placed into a Lira account'

How refreshing to hear some good news, especially on the Emlak side of things, just goes to show there are still honest, trustworthy people out there.

Commiserations on your NZ adventure, but no-doubt it was a adventure to be able to look back in years to come knowing that at least you tried, unlike some people who just whine about not being able to do things. (yes those doom'n gloom merchants)

Good luck, and welcome back.

.
