Smile Hello!!!

Hello all! I am a 17 year old living in Tampa, Florida looking to move abroad as soon as I can, and Turkey is high on my list!

Between it and Egypt as of now!

But I want too let people know a little bit who I am and what I like

So my name is Nikolaos but most call me Niko!

I love Football (Soccer), Politics, Religions, History, Languages, etc.!

I plan to go into the field of Journalism, and travel the world and invest what is going on in international crisis places, ( Sudan, Palestine, Syria, etc., ) as it is what I love!

As of now I consider myself a Muslim, but not officially converted!

I also speak English, Bosnian, Spanish,

I have good understanding in Chinese and French, plus other Balkan Cyrillic languages!

Like I said I plan to move to Turkey, and hopefully find my life there and start new leaving my current life behind me!

Thank you for reading this! I hope to settle in on this forum and see more as time comes!

If you have any questions about me, just ask away and I will answer with my best ability!

Re: Hello!!!

Welcome to the Forum. Hope you learn a lot here.

Sorry to be the first one to put a dampner on your plans. You will need a work permit if you plan to work in Turkey. Without one, if you are caught, you will be deported. I am not sure, but I think you will also need a Residence permit. Otherwise you will be strapped to the 90 days in 180 days bit. If you plan moving about from Turkey, the days you stay are added together.

I don't know what the situation is if you plan to be self-employed. But I am certain there are others on here who will be able to tell you.

Please - do the research thoroughly. It probably sounds an exotic plan to you, but there are lots of problems under the surface veneer of living in a foreign country.

Good luck whatever you decide. Keep us informed.

Maisie

Through family and some basic work hopefully, I have family who lives in Trabzon at the moment, but from what I hear it is higher class so I want to try Istanbul, or Izmir.

My mom works for a bank here in USA that carries offices in Istanbul, so I would just work for them, as they are in high need of English speaking people!

So as long as my monthly rent itself does not exceed $1300 (USD) ( not including food, electricity, water, etc., ),

I can easily live there with support from my family and working for the company my mom works for!
