Re: Halal food?
Yesterday (Sunday) I was SENT to the local shop to get custard powder, like most people there's only one & that's Birds. The guy in the shop tells me where it is & of course we all know the tin colour of Birds custard powder (well we should), I buy it.
Later we had treacle sponge & custard, I noticed that the custard was a darker yellow than normal, even the wife thought it was Birds. When we looked at the container it wasn't Birds, it was some name we had never heard of (beginning with B, of course). There on the container in little writing was the word "Halal", so maybe more products are being marked. As for the taste? Just the same as Birds. The price? 19p dearer than Birds.
Crafty how they were marketing it AND the fact that it was clearly marked with Halal was a good thing. My wife said that if she picks up anything with Halal on it she puts it back, why? Because she & all of us have or should have that choice.
