Van hire in Izmir anyone ?????
Hi anyone know of a place to hire a van (and maybe a driver) for April to ferry some furniture down from Ikea to Fethiye ??????
Any large furniture stores in Izmir itself worth looking up (need to set up a 4 bed villa inc white goods etc).
Do any of the large stores have a presence in Izmir - Are they worth checking out ? How do I find them ?
Thanks
Mike

Re: Van hire in Izmir anyone ?????
Mike we bought our sofa and dining room chairs from Istikbal and they are top quality - the sofa is leather and so are the dining chairs and I will stick my neck out here and say they are top quality - we are really pleased with them. IKEA do deliver for their customers but I think they are quite expensive - I have shopped there but we only went for soft furnishings. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Yes, on ATATÜRK CAD. NO:63. (which is the main road into the town centre).
There are a number of other big stores on the same road, some on the road to Calis, and more on the back road on the one-way system. Good hunting.

Re: Van hire in Izmir anyone ?????
Mike,
If you need some help with shopping in the Fethiye area, PM me.
I can show you shops of all kinds and, as I've got a pick-up truck, I'll be able to get a lot of your purchases home for you.
I can also take to some places that'll make you furniture to your own specs.
Take a look on Google for the websites of Istikbal, Bellona, Alfemo, Arcelik, Beko, Vestell etc and you'll be able to get an idea of the furniture and white goods available in the Fethiye area.
However, if you do decide to go to Izmir, hire a truck and driver from Fethiye. It'll be cheaper than hiring from Izmir.
