Hi

Can any one recommend a hotel for one night stop over near or easy reach of the airport by car. Going to Ikea following day before driving to Bodrum.

Which airport, Ron? If it's Antalya, I know that Ikea is very near to the airport, but I can certainly recommend La Paloma in the Old City Quarter of Antalya. Phone No. 0090 242 244 8497. Fax 0090 242 247 4509 Right in the centre of Antalya, but so peaceful. Easy to find Ikea as well, just follow the signs for the airport. For bed and breakfast cost is approximately 59 lira for double room per night. Hope this helps.

There are 2 hotels one the main road through Gaziemir that goes between the Airport and the exit to the motorway to Ikea. One is older looking but the second looks quite nice. I can talk a walk up there tomorrow after I drop my son of to school to get the names of them for you

Silly me, I tried to get my son ready for school today, forgetting it is a holiday. We took a walk up to the main road (I finally learned the name of the main road today after all this time, Akçay Cad :P) and first visited Trio Hotel. It is pretty new and very nice looking in and out. The man behind the counter does not speak alot of english though. They have prices listed on the wall and when I asked what currency they were in he proceeded to mark down the price for me in USD, 1 person $80. USD and 2 persons $95 USD. They are located about 10 mins. away from the airport on the left hand side as you drive from the airport towards downtown just past Metro and Tansaş. Now as nice as the Trio Hotel is, I can not justify paying that much money for a bed and bathroom for 1 night myself and when we walked to the Ünaten Hotel I was actually surprised as I had never been inside it before. It does not look as nice as the Trio Hotel but it is not as new either but it is clean appearing outside and from what we saw inside. It appears to be modern and there was several people in the lobby compared to an empty lobby at Trio Hotel. The man at the desk here spoke very good english and he wrote out the prices for me: single $40. YTL and double $70. YTL. They are located on the left hand side of the road also, just after the Metro a bit but before the Tansaş. They do not have a website

ps someone else recommended Trio, but told me it was Trion so I have been struggling to find them. They said rates were 50-60 YTL for dbl room per night - so quite a difference now. Maybe he got them crossed
