23rd Universiade 2005, Izmir
The Universiade is an international sporting and cultural festival, which is, staged every two years in a different city and which is second in importance only to the Olympic Games.
23rd Universiade consists of 10 compulsory sports and up to three optional sports chosen by the host country.
The ten compulsory sports are, athletics, basketball, fencing, football, gymnastics, swimming, diving, water polo, tennis and volleyball. The three optional sports are: wrestling, tea-kwon-do and archery.
Universiade 2005 is between August 11 and 21, 2005.
