THE ISA BEY MOSQUE
İsa Bey, a member of the ruling family in the district of Aydın commissioned the architect Ali to build this mosque in 1375. Some architectural elements from the Temple of Artemis, in particular the columns were reused in its construction. Measuring 51m x57m it is the earliest representative of a mosque with a colonnaded courtyard in Anatolia. It displays typical elements of Seljuk architecture and ornamentation, such as the pendants of the domes with the painted tiles, the stalactites of the window moldings with arabesque motifs, colored stones and painted tiles particularly the faience mosaics of the south dome. The monumental height of the west portal is the typical features of the Seljuk style. The mihrab and the pulpit are constructed from marble. In addition to this mosque, Selçuk also houses four small mosques currently in use and kümbets (large tombs with domed or conical roofs. All these structures belong to Aydınoğulları Aydın Emirates) and Ottoman periods
THE CASTLE MOSQUE
The mosque dated back to 14th century is situated in the castle on top of the Ayasuluk hill. The square planned mosque has a dome and its minaret is located in the east.
THE İSHAK BEY MOSQUE
Situated at the junction of the İzmir-Aydın highway the mosque, the mosque belongs to Aydınoğulları Principality. The square planned structure has a single tomb supported by the vaults beneath. Its minaret is out of the mosque. The last congregation area was annexed to the mosque afterwards.
THE İSHAK BEY MESJİD
It was built in the 16th century. The tile ornamentation of the niches seen in front of the window is eye catching.
THE SAADET HANIM BATHS
It was constructed by Saadet Hatun in the 14th century. The baths located next to the Selçuk Ephesus museum is the first Bath Museum in Turkey.
THE İSABEY BATHS
The baths which lie between the Bazilica of St. John and the Temple of Artemis were constructed in the 14th century by İsa Bey. It has four aiwans with rectangular bathing cells. It consists of three main sections. Dressing room section was collapsed. The cold and hot room sections are covered with domes.
THE MONUMENTAL TOMBS:
In and around Selçuk, especially near the Selçuk-Aydın highway there are square or polygonal planned monumental tombs (Türbes) with their conic domes are the good examples of the Seljuk architecture.
