German Christmas market

Hi,

For those living within the Izmir area, the annual German Christmas market is being held at the modern amphitheatre in Guzelbahce on the 26th November this year.

Here's an article about last years event:

German Christmas market attracts foreigners and locals alike in Güzelbahçe - Hurriyet Daily News

Snacks and draft beers along with mulled wine, cheesecakes and other traditional German fare is sold at the event. The children who attend the local international school sing carols at the start of the event, with a chance to purchase a variety of hand-craft goods and Christmas decorations throughout the day.

The market begins at 12 noon and is held indoors, with BBQ snacks and beer served outside (with seating available)

On Sunday I am going to the German Christmas Market in London. Great to hear that you have the same in Turkey.

Tosmur,

Have a fantastic time!

I'm sure the Guzelbahce one is a lot smaller, but it's a lovely day out, and a great way to get into the Christmas mood.

Also, the Agora Shopping centre has erected their tree, and yesterday they were hanging the lights! The large Koctas (just down the road from Agora) have also started selling their Christmas decorations.

Merry Christmas!

Re: German Christmas market

Greg,

The Christmas (hediye) fair begins on the 16th December until the 31 December this year. Perhaps we should all try to meet up again there?
