Turkey legs

The only food I've missed more than pork in Turkey is (ironically?) turkey. I've been told by some Turks that it's possible to get whole turkeys in this big market in Balcova, but I don't yet have an apartment, and even if I did, I probably wouldn't have an oven. So I'm wondering if there's anywhere I can get turkey legs around here? (Even if uncooked, I could probably get the kebap place I eat at almost every day to cook it for me.)

Thanks,
~Q

Re: Turkey legs

You can get Turkey breasts in Migros sometimes, never seen a leg yet.

Re: Turkey legs

Yes I've gotten them there -bone them stuff them and roll them, tie them off at intervals with butchers string - easy and very tasty.

Re: Turkey legs

..i usually buy a whle turkey and bone it out ..the breast i cut into escalope size and breadcrumb, the leg meat i use for casseroles etc...the bones i make about 10 gallons of turkey broth, IMO it has the tastiest stock of all..personally i have never liked roast turkey,i find it way too dry ..in the uk i prefered the Bernard Mathews turkey leg roll for roasting.. much more moisture and flavour...
