Airport
were there reports of a fire at Izmir airport a while back.
if so has anyone any update on repairs or current state of the place

Thurstan, the fire was at Istanbul Airport. Izmir Airport is fine and the new terminal should be open by July.

oops, geography was never my strong point !!
so any reports on istanbul? we normally fly there to transfer yto an internal flight to Izmir

From what I heard on the news Istanbul airport is fine and it only affected a cargo area so you should not have any problems.
