New Shopping Mall

The lovely Sylvia was in the office yesterday. She informs me that they are oppening a new shopping mall in Izmir to include "River Island", "Evans" and "Body Shop"!! It is situated next to IKEA so should be easy enough to find. I had a look on the website www.forumbornova.com but couldnt make much sense out of it!!

Azra might have some more info on it so Im going to ask her about it.

Re: New Shopping Mall

Hi,

Yes they are in the process of building it still but it is right beside the Ikea in Bornova. They did have signs everywhere to find the Ikea when it first opened but the signs are long gone now but if you come into to Izmir from the highway that goes from Çeşme and follow it to Bornova, you will see Ikea right before the off ramp. It is advertized as being a very large mall with lots of new shops. I have not heard what all will be there yet though. There is a Body Shop open at Konak Pier , for anyone that can not wait for the new one to open.

Re: New Shopping Mall

We took a trip out to Ikea today and what a disappointment. They no longer offer the shuttle service at all so if you are arriving by bus or metro expect to pay around 6 YTL for a taxi from the metro station to Ikea. Otherwise it was a nice day.

We checked out the Forum Bornova, a very large mall. It is an outdoor mall and boosts may well known shops such as:

Body Shop
Next
Calvin Klein
Zara
Rodi
D&R Bookstore
Starbucks
Gloria Jeans

PS Kym they have River Island but we did not check it out but did not see the Evans.

There is a large cinema as well as a large Kipa, now if only the dolmuş and buses would go there.

Re: New Shopping Mall

we went to Ikea on Saturday and they had just opened the mall next door but it was a madhouse and we decided against going.

sounds like it is well stocked...but after shopping at ikea i ran out of money anyway so i was glad that we decided not to go to the mall.......

happy shopping everyone

River Island????? I am on my way there now. It will save me a fortune on postage and packaging.

Let's just hope they don't go completely British and do the utterly crap Next Boxing Day sale. That would be sad.

Re: New Shopping Mall

We are going back tomorrow to pick up a fenerbahçe jersey we had made and I will try to post a more detailed guided of what they have and don't have but we were in a hurry today to be back in time to pick our son up from school. We did look in Next, it must be a British store as I have never heard of them before (I'm from Canada, thats why) but they had some nice women clothing, some a bit pricey but some things were priced good as well.

Re: New Shopping Mall

river island is bloody expensive. had a few here for years now.
what i find strange is they have billboard adverts for this new mall here. i mean when you have the kanyon, cevahir, profilo, natulas, metro city, akmerkez, carousal, akmerkez, galleria and others i forgot to mention why advertise a mall which is an 8 hour drive away?
