Hi

We are picking a car up from Izmir Airport and want to go to Ikea to pick up some bits before we drive on to Altinkum. Can anyone help with directions from the airport to Ikea in Izmir or let us know where we can obtain a map even?

Looking forward to visiting Turkey for the first time in December!

It's the IKEA Izmir site in English and it includes a map for directions to the store.

Take the turning for the motorway as you leave the airport- not the one for Gaziemir.
Then take the motorway heading towards Izmir.
Stay on the motorway until it ends - Don't turn off anywhere.
Just follow the road and bear right at the end ( I don't think you have a choice ).

You'll see İkea from the motorway on the right.

I live in Gaziemir (I can walk to the airport) and I go to Ikea all the time, sometimes by bus and sometimes if the weather is good by scooter. When you pull out of the airport turn right on the main road that goes through Gaziemir. Follow it until just past the Agean Free Zone/Space Camp (it will be on your left) and on the right side take the motorway ramp. It says Pinarbaşı/Bornova/Buca. Follow it.....do not take any turns from it even when you see signs that say Bornova or you will end up in a different area of Bornova. Just before you come to the off ramp you will easily see Ikea and Forum Bornova. Becareful on weekends as the parking lot has been full and cars parked down the road since Forum Bornova has opened.
