Re: Anyone looking for a job in Kalkan??
I would love to work in Kalkan, but I think that a severe lack of Turkish would definitely hinder my chances of a job, LOL.

I think a lot of people might like to work in Turkey but there is the difficult task of getting a work permit! Maybe that's how it should be, there are plenty of Turks needing work.

Re: Anyone looking for a job in Kalkan??
Hi Quebikh
I wouldn't pass a chance to work in Kalkan, as long as it's ..........
not more than 5 days a week,
not more than 50 hours a week,
not commision based,
not just seasonal,
not a taxi driver, all that up and down heart attack hill !
and not making gozleme under a tree ! , love them but can't make them
I have dual nationality so work permit no problem, don't think I'll find anything though, unless the mayor's looking for a right hand woman.
do you have a vacancy Q ?

Re: Anyone looking for a job in Kalkan??
Forgive me Linda
But you know my english is not so good to understand all things you told me everytime. Now please can you confirm me if I understand all right?
You wanto to work in Kalkan but you dont want to work more then 5 days a week and 50 hours a week and you dont want a job for seasonal. Is it right?
Let me be honest;
I decide to create a new travel agency and try to find me a partner. And you know travel agency is only a seasonal work but If we work harder all the winter time for once then all incomes will be increase everyyear as a chain. Just one winter we will get harder.
And the reason I am trying to find a foreign partner is about comminication. Because I have turkish and I can get communicate with Turks easily and my partner can communicate with foreign people easily and Maybe I can have more partners but trustfull partners to make the spendings more cheaper and easy
Regards

Please give us more information, Quebickh. Do you have premises and the licences? If you want a partner, how much money do you want and how much money are you putting up. Are you giving up your University studies and the taxi driving?

Re: Anyone looking for a job in Kalkan?? - Warning!
If you do not have a legal, valid government work permit to work in Turkey, AND a legal, valid residence permit, be VERY CAREFUL. One shop in Kalkan was closed down last week because it was found that the British co-owner's work permit was not yet renewed. She was apparently deported and large fines were levied against the Turkish partner who started the shop.
The Jandarm have been charged with investigating every foreigner working in Kalkan, and have been going around doing just that.
There is a long article in 4 parts about legal employment in Turkey in today's paper Zaman, online.
