Re: Bathroom Furniture

Hi,

We couldnt find a full length mirror anywhere in Kalkan. We did however find a wonderful mirror from a shop in Fethiye, it was on the main road down to the harbour, on the left hand side, just before the set of lights where you would turn right to go to Migros and the weekly market.

They were really helpful - if there wasnt one we liked they offered to make one for us!

Hope that helps

Jon

Re: Bathroom Furniture

Hi
There is a bathroom store in the square in Yesilkoy, in fact they sell all sorts of things lighting, etc they have bathroom cabinets but you can also look throught a brochure and order anything you see and like. Going out of Yesilkoy on the LHS turn into the square and park up, the shop is also on the LHS. We ordered our bath/shower screen from there. It looks small from the outside but quite large inside. Also in Fethiye there are some bathroom shops, we drive down the road beside the bus station along the river, then walk into the town. Along this route is a large bathroom ceramic store where we have bought several items including a whole shower room including handbasin toilet etc, put it in the car which we can park outside. Continue along the back road into the town and you will find more, quality very good, not far from the fish market. You can also park in this area but it is pay and display. Hope that is of help. If no car the Dlomus drives past.

Further- regarding the mirror, in Kas just down again from the bus station is a pitcure framing shop, they will also frame mirrors as we have seen them in there so it may be worth a try. Opposite the supermarket on the corner. Also do a good cheap framing service.

You would be amazed what you can find in Kalkan, Sarpedon Gallery in the harbour does picture framing and could make a full length mirror for you.

Re: Bathroom Furniture

Sarpedon is a lovely shop but very expensive, we have had framing done for 1/4 of their price in the shop in Kas. We know all this becuase we make a point of going where (when possible ) the locals go. We have been going to Kalkan for more than 14yrs now so make a point of investigating. Yesilkoy is the village next to Kalkan which you go thro enroute from Fethiye. Its a working town and alot of work done in Kalkan is done by people from there, Phlly45 get a car and duck and dive you will be amased at what you can find, if you know a little Turkish it helps or can you draw? Or better still make a list of what you require and learn the turkish for the items. Good Luck

It also makes it more satisfying to be able to do these things by yourself, the Turks will also help you, they are very pleased if you have a try and they can get you what you want.
