Unlicenced transfer vehicles
In the Fethiye Times website recently, they are discussing the clampdown on unlicenced transfer vehicles entering Dalaman airport. When we left a few weeks ago, there was already a long queue at the first gate. Has anyone any first hand experience on this from the past two weeks? - and does it affect any of the established transfer companies such as Enes/Adda etc.

Re: Unlicenced transfer vehicles
Our friends run their own transfer from the airport to their hotel for which they were fully licensed. They were affected by the problems at the airport initially which seems to have stemmed from the local airport operators trying to get a monopoly on the transfers.
Our friends say they have now sorted whatever issues there were and are now running transfers again, so hopefully things may be getting back to normal.

Re: Unlicenced transfer vehicles
This reminds me of the problem a couple of years ago when the local taxi drivers ganged up against and threatened the hotels and panysions running their own shuttle services to and from Kalkan. The taxi drivers said they were stealing their business. I know at least one hotel that stopped running their van as it became too problematic.
