Antalya Kalkan buying property

I dont know if I am doing this correct just replied in Antalya but I bought in Kalkan.
I have been out on a few viewing trips and always been disappointed, until the last one I went to Antalya with a UK company and at last i felt confident enough to buy. I decided against the properties we were shown in Side, Belek and Kemer and I thought they would be annoyed as we said the area was not for us. We were then taken down to Kalkan which we thought would have been too expensive where we met Property Sun Turkey sales man Ozgur, he was just not like a sales man he was really great and knew all the details of everything and everyone there. We have put a deposit down on a resale villa it was a great price but I have to say the company from the sales people in Turkey to the offices in London where we visited were all really reassuring. I dont know if you are supposed to put websites on but when you here all these dreadful stories i really do feel they deserve a mention and anyone dealing with them is treated special( well thats how we felt) I will let you know how our purchase goes but cant wait. Thankyou propertysunturkey

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Like I said on the Motif Homes thread, wish you all the luck in the world, but your post is so so premature. Can you explain to me why they are so great if all they have done is switched your househunt from Side to Kalkan and taken a deposit from you?

Please for your own sake come down from your pink cloud and be very careful. Like you say, you are aware of all the horror stories, so please take notice of what can go wrong before praising this company who have yet to prove themselves to you.

PS Now seen your post in three different threads!!

Come back when the sales gone through, you have all the correct documentation and then let us know how happy you are and if you still recommend this company.

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

It all seams to be going OK I hope everything will be OK. I went to Kalkan after Antalya because another agent told me it was too expensive( think they wanted to get me elsewhere) but i know different now, and i dont know where to post I am new and didnt know if i was in the right place. Maybe i will get the hang of it as i will use more as there is a lot of information but such conflicting views and advice but some good i think inbetween.

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Sorry if I sounded like I was coming down on you like a ton of bricks Stan! It is only because I am so very concerned about the way you are being so trusting of someone who has not yet done anything to deserve your trust, and all this in a country where people are regularly conned out of their life savings when all they tried to do was to buy the home of their dreams. I want your happiness to last and not for you to become another victim.

It does not matter if you have posted in the wrong place, we have moderators to solve that I believe.

Anyway, hope you will find this forum helpful. There is a wealth of information on everything to do with buying and living in Turkey. Forgive me for my earier outburst, it was just out of concern.

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Ok no problem, but you are right about dreams and I know people can get carried away and forget all sense and be too trusting. We have pulled back a few times from buying because it really didnt make sense what we were been told. But using a London Lawyer (Turkish) and only paid small deposit so hope things will be OK

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Hi Stan,,,,Good luck in your quest to buy a property here in Turkey,,i really hope all goes well for you,,,BUT,,,like everyone says proceed carefully,,check and double check everything before handing any more money out. Also,,,i don't know your lawyers but my friend used a turkish lawyer based in London and was very badly ripped off,,,( i'm not saying it was same lawyers),,, basicaly,,they didn't do job properly and she bought a house that doesn't even have planning permission,,,,,,,So,,,be careful,,,,,

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Hi Stan, I'm one of those who has come unstuck with my apartment purchase and have been defrauded of all my savings. Please don't trust anyone until you have the TAPU in your hand checked out as problem free. Don't pay up until you are face to face and TAPU ready to be handed over. The school of hard knocks is not a good place to learn! Good Luck.

Re: Antalya Kalkan buying property

Hi Rosy I am sorry things did not work out for you this is so awful for people who put their trust in people for their dream. I hope it hasn't put you off Turkey just some of those money grabbing agents who care about only themselves and don't give a thought about what they are doing to people it is truly dreadful.
