Info on area plz
Hi All
been away for a while, saving pennies, but are back on the house hunt. We are coming over again in October half term but would like some info on Uzumlu & Kalkan areas, ie propertys & prices. Done a bit of research & am i right in thinking Uzumlu is quite a lot cheaper that Kalkan? Also what are the distances between Uzumlu & Kalkan & Uzulum & olu deniz. Also With Uzumlu being in land does it have a bigger problem with my mates the mozzies. Any info greatly appreciated.

Cheers Nick

Re: Info on area plz
No mozzie prob here in Uzumlu
Currently its a buyers market and theres some great prices for good homes here in the village. We are about 20/25mins drive from Olu Deniz.
Kalkan, a beautiful upmarket resort is about 1hr 45 away. Its posh there, indeed its so posh even the fire brigade is ex directory.
Kalkan has amazing scenery, beautiful marina and views to die for.
We have a donkey.
Houses in Kalkan are well positioned-we are high up here on the mountain.
Indeed my own house is so high up at nights I have to leave the window open to let the moon go through. On a clear day I can see my furniture
Our houses are small here in Uzumlu so are also a bit packed tight for space-last week there were 2 killed and 17 injured when a bed collapsed

Re: Info on area plz
...are you trying to put the man off Uzumlu Philip? Don't like newcomers coming to the village with their fancy ideas and ways...?
Bet you have a local shop in the village for local people like they do in The League of Gentleman.

Re: Info on area plz
Donkey fanciers are a secretive, antisocial, competitive, xenophobic bunch. Nearly as bad as yabanci denizens from Uzumlu.

Re: Info on area plz
Kalkan's lovely (i'm biased) but as you say dearer than Uzumlu so it depends whether you want to be inland with a big house or by the coast with a smaller one. It depends if you want it to be quiet like Uzumlu or more bustling like Kalkan. It depends if you like to have a wide range of eating places, supermarkets and shops or prefer there to be a more limited number but where you will know everyone.
It's horses for courses, or in the case of Philip and Uzumlu it perhaps should be donkeys for courses. If you are in Uzumlu you will have Philip as a neighbour.
Why not visit both and see which you like best.
