Falcon boat trip in Kalkan
I was helping a client find an affordable Kalkan villa during September. The client and I viewed several properties for sale in Kalkan over the weekend but I reserved Sunday for my partner. We decided to book our Kalkan Boat trip through Xpress Tours at the cost of £ 20. They picked us up from the Oasis Hotel and took us to the port for the pleasant 10:30 am launch.
The Kalkan boat we set sail in was called The Falcon; it is flat bottomed boat with comfortable seating on the lower deck and easily had two dozen mattresses on the upper deck. Bobo our sailor hand prepared drinks for the guests shortly after we departed. My mind quickly drifted away as the gentle rocking of the Falcon relaxed my weary body. I soon felt at ease.
Most Kalkan boat trips will visit several bays along the route. We stopped at our first one within 20 minutes. It was the perfect time to splash about in the crystal clear water and refresh ourselves with a nice cool dip.
Our captain, would stop whenever we felt like it. He even loaned me his snorkel gear (which he pronounced Shnoorkel) so that I could fully enjoy the underwater views. The aptly named bay - Aquarium - certainly had the most fish and underwater plants.
We attached ourselves to another boat anchored off Yilan Island where we enjoyed a delightful lunch of fresh meze and delicately battered Gruppa fish. I sought the shelter of the canopy as I retreated to the upper deck to have an after lunch snooze whilst my partner enjoyed a mud bath. Other guests basked in the unprotected sunlight and quenched their thirst with crisp white wine served by our jovial crew of two.
The Kalkan boat trip is one of many experiences you can enjoy when you own a villa here. It really is the most relaxing in my opinion; I had a great day out!
