I've been on my Hols!!!
4pm last Friday After just watering the Garden i was fed up! I looked at websites for somewhere to go and read some post on TLF, Shouted to Gordon "Fancy going away for the weekend" he said "OK" and that was all I needed. Threw a few things into a suitcase and we were off!!
A gentle drive from Fethiye passing through amazing countryside it was not long before we arrived in Kalkan 5.30pm, we wended our way down to the marina looking out for a hotel that I spied on the net, Hotel Pirat, there she was sited right on the harbour front. We went in asking if "there was room in the Inn"? great there was, asked how much for 3 night half board for 2? "100TL" anight, wow! of course we took it £100 for 2 for 3 nights, well who would'nt. A nice man went round to collect our car and parked it outside the hotel, we went to our room and was not expecting the sea view.
What a stunning location, so quaint and peaceful, The hills were a bit of a climb to go exploring the town of Kalkan but well worth it, with the warren of shops, the charm of the resort, maybe I should work on getting fit to explore further!!. Prices were a little more than Fethiye, drinks were not far off the same though. But what a lovely place to holiday. Will definitely be going back there, hopefully next month.

Hope you tried the Marina Restaurant across the road from the Pirat on the corner - highly recommended.

I went to Kalkan on my first trip to Turkey. It sure is a stunning place.. Glad you enjoyed it.

What a great find, pity it wasn't longer eh Lorraine.
Can't wait to get back to Turkey and do some
exploring myself.

 Hi Lorraine,
what a charming message, actually, this Pirat Hotel is in a Belgian Brochure (there are hardly any organised trips from Belgium to Kas or Kalkan), and I'm also very found of a sea view.....
Thanks for the pictures, I will have another look..... wanting to go there as well maybe (wanting to go everywhere really but not having enough time to do it all) |

Hi Lorraine,
I've just got back from Kalkan today after two lovely weeks in our apartment,
good chice of hotel Lorraine, we took some friends with us for the first week and got them a room in the Pirat, 7 nights for £200 b&b, they were over the moon with everything there.
The Pirat terrace bar is alos one of the nicest places to have a drink, but you probably found that out as well,
