address and mail
[B]
How can a find the address of my apartment from the information on the Tapu and how are addresses written?
What is the Turkish system of delivery of mail? Is mail received via the local post office - is it possible to have access to a delivery postbox - or is it collected over the counter with I.D (what I.D)?

Re: address and mail
Addresses are written as
Your name
Village / Area
Street name or number & house / apartment block number
House / apartment number or name
Postcode & Town
Province ( Optional )
Turkey
The best way to get your address right is to go to the PTT and let them tell you your address once you have told them exactly where you live.
How mail is delivered depends exactly on where you live. If in a house in a town it's generally delivered to your door. In an apartment block it may be delivered to a box downstairs or to the manager's office / apartment.
In some villages it is delivered to the door, in others to a shop / market / head man's house, and you collect it from there. In all cases it can be daily or weekly delivery. Don't rely on getting a daily service, or EVERY week for that matter.
You can also rent a box at the PTT, provided of course that they've got them available. Alternatively, you can have your post sent "Poste Restante" to the post office nearest to you.

Re: address and mail
Boxes at the Post Office are very hard to get and there is a waiting list, but as previously stated they will hold post for you.
