solar tanks and panels

Hi, I was just wondering if anyone knows the price of solar panels and water tanks, I have been quoted some silly prices, if they are that expensive, how on earth do people afford them?

Bought a house last year, that had an electric water boiler, but guess what? that has now dissapeared along with the renter, as have all the light fittings, oh dear.

Any information would be very welcome, hope someone can help,

Thanks Trisha

Re: solar tanks and panels

Hi,
A standard set up of 2 panels and 1 cold and 1 hot water tank including fitting should range from 900tl to around 1300tl

An electric boiler is about 500tl so its a no brianer with the sun of turkey!---they have stopped giving permission to have them installed here in izmir because the weight of the water can damage the roof structure.

Re: solar tanks and panels

i got ripped off when i had a water leak from my tank replaced. And whether the tank had a leak or was it a ball cock over flow, which is something i will never know. Anyway i got charged 900 lira for one hot and one cold tank.I later found out that the cost would have been 400 lira for two tanks. The middle man had a big smile on his face which i don't think i will forget in a hurry.

Re: solar tanks and panels

Timely thread.
Just turned up at my house for the summer to find that my solar panels are busted and need replacing.
Spent the last two days going round the various shops in Bodrum and Yalikavak to price replacements and the prices and bullsh*t was first class.
Any way to cut along story short two standard aluminum panels (appox 95cm by 190cm) should cost around 200TL each plus a tank which I assume should be no more than 200tl depending on the size (how many live in your house will determine the tank size.
What ever you do not fall for the sales pitch on copper based panels olr the ones that work in the dark! Go for the basic and that does the job.

Good luck.

lol.. when I bought mine nearly four years ago, I had to pay 600 pounds, that was through an Emlak in Didim, and not a big one either. What a con. They are not ashamed, are they?

no, they are not in the least ashamed, I am so sick of being ripped off, just wish they would put prices on things, we might have a fighting chance, you ask how much and the longer it takes them to tell you, the bigger the price, you've got to laugh, not
