Re: fruit Wine!

A great deal of fruit wine comes from Sirince, a tiny village which was Greek inhabited until the land exchange, and interestingly one of the few places in the world where you could have survived the end of the world as predicted by the Mayans!
The village is a short drive up the mountains from Kusadasi and well worth a visit, it is a beautiful place.
If you can find someone else to drive I'd recommend it though because you just have to stop at every shop and test a different type of wine and will be legless by the time you get round the village!
They do strawberry, blackberry, cherry, kiwi, banana, peach, apricot, grape, apple, pear...pretty much any fruit you can grow there!

Re: fruit Wine!

Is this the same as the fruit liqueur that you used to get free after a meal in a restaurant? - along with the complementary bread, mini pide and fresh fruit.

Re: fruit Wine!

Some of the sample wines were very nice but the bought bottles went down the sink, I suspect there was a bit of a scam. Not so sure the wines are actually made there now, well not all of them.
