JUST RETURNED FROM KARIA STUDENT RESIDENCE
We were very dissapointed to find 50/60 students have now moved into the two blocks next to us, and some also living in our block??
We have had to contend with nowhere to meet/eat/drink/socialise.
Power/water failures.
Mechanical digger excavating pools behind us/workmen drilling/banging etc even though Beledir was called onto site to stop working!
Mossy bites by the million
What an enourmous dissapointment to have to tell our friends on site via email that the two weeks we were over to furnish and make it our 2nd home was an absolute nightmare.
We are now forced to rent our DREAM RETIREMENT HOME out to students-possibly to wreck the place, and we may return in 18/24 months to view the damage and hope that things have improved.
Fevzipasa was to be our dream-no more i'm afraid.

Personally apart from the lovelley Pennie and familly I dont think an awfull lot happens in Fevispasha.

We have all had to put up with the mozzies Im afraid thats part and parcel of living in Turkey,the building work still goes on whether people are on holiday or not unfortunatly your appartment is still really in the middle of a building site isnnt it.!!!!!

I really dont think these appartments should be allowed to be let out to students I thought they were suppossed to be HOLIDAY HOME LUXURY APPARTMENTS.How can students afford to rent them I wonder.??????

As I said Im so sorry for you and do hope this experience hasennt put you off Turkey.!!!

Dear Mike,
I don't understand why it is a problem to have students as neighbours if they don't violate the complex rules.
Sorry to hear that you had problems with the mosquitos but there are some spreys or mosquito nets that solves the problem.
I don't understand why you were forced to rent out your property? Didn't the builder (Alkan, thats me) tell you that they will keep a deposit against any damage and they will check the property every month?

The children returning to school in September signals the return of the building work, so I can't understand why the Belediye was called to stop these guys working.

A few students would be fine, not 50/60 at once!!!
We used every type of mossy repellent known to man and still got eaten but if the developer, who owns a Window company, does not have the courtesy to install Mossy nets as standard not try and proffiteer by holding clients to ransom to buy as an EXTRA??
No one forced me to rent out but no choices left if we do not want to use the place?
A deposit will help especially when ONLY GETTING AROUND £250 PER MONTH??? FOR THE SLEEPS 6 APPARTMENT!!
I am trying not to unfairly compare English Students to Turkish students, and will admit the few who we met seemed very mature and curtious, arriving with their parents they were bound to be on best behaviour.
Alkan, you know very well why we are livid at the second 2 weeks experience of our Dream Home Purchase and why were feel compelled to let it out untill the area is suitable for holidays.

£250 (450-500ytl) per month rent is the normal long-term rental in Kusadasi so I'm sure that Akbuk is no different.

The mosquito problem is well-known in Akbuk and that was the reason we didn't buy a property there back in 2001. However I agree that your builder should fitted mozzie screens or at least warned you fo the problem.

Who reported the building work to the Belediye?
