Government insurance and prescriptions.

Went to the Yucelen 12 days ago and the doctor prescribed some tablets.
Took the prescription to the chemist by the Yucelen - gave me them straight away and cost 5tl.
Went back last Thursday 12th and he increased my dosage and some B12 injections. which meant we needed another prescription for the increased tablets. which he said he would put on this prescription.
When we went Friday to the chemist in Koycegiz - which we always use- we noticed that he hadn`t put the tablets on the prescription. The chemist would not give us the tablets without a prescription and the tablets would be in on Tuesday. Off we went to the Yucelen in Ortaca to get another prescription - no problems getting one. went back to the chemist. Can`t have these tablets on insurance until the 21st November but could take them if we paid for them - 19.5tl.
Asked why we couldn`t have them on insurance and she said because the government said so and showed me a list of meds and the dates they could be had on insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone else had this problem?

Re: Government insurance and prescriptions.

The SGK can be quite quirky in some respects regarding when it pays for prescription items. For example, if you get a prescription for an item with 28 tablets and the doctor writes on it one a day the SGK will pay their 80% of the cost and you pay your 20%.
However if you visit the doctor again before that 28 days is up for something else and ask him to give you some more of the original tablets because you want to save another trip, he will give you the prescription with no problem. However the chemist will not give you the tablets at the 80% discount because the SGK will not pay their 80% until the 28 days is up - although you can pay the full price for them if you wish.
Your particular issue obviously came about because of the increased doseage but the SGK had no way of knowing that. In their eyes "The Computer Says No" because it tells them that you still have tablets left from the original pack and original doseage.
